No matter where you come from there is always something you can do. If you like to stay active, or you are looking for something you wouldn't ordinarily do on a weekend consider downtown Harrisburg, PA and what it has to offer you.Harrisburg, PA is conviently located near Inner Harbor, Baltimore, MD, Atlantic City, Philidelphia, New York City and the sweetest place on earth Hershey, Pa. While those are all fantastic places to sneak off too, you might consider your own backyard first. 

Harrisburg, Pa's downtown, is unexpectidly a nice city to spend a day. Perhaps, you might consider some of Harrisburg's activities like a ballgame with peanuts and an ice cold beer at Harrisburg's city Island located on the Susquehanna River. Enjoy all sorts of activities by playing a round of water golf at City Island's own putt-putt course; fun for the kids and adults! The kids will enjoy a ride in a train around the stadium, or you can take your loved one on a romantic carriage ride around the island and along the city skirt. Before the evening falls enjoy a tour on the Pride of the Susquehanna, a river boat. If your idea of fun is kicking back on a pontoon boat, fishing along the river banks, or cruising on jetski's, City Island is the place to be. You can even dock your boat or jet ski at the local bar, Duke's, where you can enjoy a refreshing drink and fabulous eats. Relax on the deck overlooking the river, sit at the bar or sit inside where the AC is on! Harrisburg, Pa has got it all! 

The city is filled with all sorts of culture and arts and pleases everyone's taste for fun and entertainment. You can stop into an art gallery located along Front Street, or visit the IMAX theatre for a 3D show. Perhaps the kids would enjoy the science center. 

If your a single guy or gal take a jog or walk your dog along the Susquehanna river path where you'll stop to read fun facts about Harrisburg, Pa's history. If jogging is not your style, bring your bikes, rollerblades, or just sit on a park bench and delve into a good book.
