Seldom do I ever truly despise a video game. But Armored Core: Nine Breaker published by AGETEC.INC has to qualify as one of the worst games I have ever played. This head to head robot fighting game is no where near worth the monetary investment. It looks like a game freshly made by an unimaginative nerd in his basement, on his PC while he was waiting for his porn to finish downloading. The Controls are slow and difficult to master.

The Graphics are barely average for a Playstation 2 title. The weapons are your basic rockets and bombs along with shields... Boring!!! Not to mention the stages, each one is as dull as the next. And many are glitched up with rediculas things that happen in them when one leaves the battle zone. I only played the game for about three hours and I recall several instances of losing matches because my opponent disappeared beyond the battle field and shot me while I could not persue them because if I did I would lose.

as machine guns, rifles, sniper rifles, laser rifles, pulse rifles, rocket launchers, bazookas, rpg guns, flamethrowers, shotguns, missile launchers, and even energy blades(which used to be mandatory right arm weapon in the series, but have become optional next to an array of lighter types of the above weapons exclusive to the right arm, even shell or energy shield devices. of course all these weapons are only as effective as your ACs ability to use them. how much energy drain are they? do they take energy to use, and how much? how heavy is it compared to my weight class? how well does the arm part control it? how well does the FCS lock in combination with it? one look and you'll likely understand the frustration of the reviewer, its a very complicated involved game, and if you werent into the series you would be clueless and unable to play the game at all without being frustrated, unless of course you have a helpful review to set you on the right track, or you posses at least avera

they like to play. This game is a trainer/arena combat centric version of the series, its merely a stepping stone to AC4, yet still fun and a good refresher for those who havent played in a while. in order to actually win, you need to develop a sense of how to put them together, you cant just suck your thumb and cruise through it. The whole basis is balance. Something with a lot of armor and weapons is going to be heavy and slow, no maybe about it. this means its far harder to avoid being shot up, which means that extra armor better be worth it for you to do your thing, or its meaningless. Something with lots of speed, agility, and countermeasures is not going to have much burst damage potential, yet may still be able to wear those heavy armor slow moving ones down, because these have the speed to dodge rockets, grenade guns, even lasers and locked on missiles. it depends on your playstyle and how you want to go about it. there are different ranges of play based on weapon types, such a

Controls of something such as a jet would also be difficult until they became second nature, and thats the type of game this is. so basically, the review is sour grapes talking, because it takes reaction time, control ability, and a patience the reviewer can never have. Seldom do I ever come across a truly ignorant person, but he misleads time and again, something he accused the game's cover of, and just to try to seal his point, he repeats his first paragraph after telling you why its bad. can you really trust someone who wasnt even paying attention when they were cut and pasting their uninformed rant about a game they dont understand? Im willing to bet this poor person never got better than a D rating for any AC he built. As for the rest of you, this title, as well as another other of the series, is about your personal taste of fighting style vs ability to create it with AC parts. lots of the fun most other gamers have is simply trying to come up with the perfect one for how th

as heat management, attack evading, learning effective combinations of weapons for damage output/duration, movement training, which helps you decide factors when creating an AC, such as total unit weight, cooling, energy use, part specific traits such as leg speed, FCS to weapon compatibility, arm laser blade efficiency and arm recoil control, and head ECM counter ability. If you want one in the series which gives you missions to play, any of the other games in the series are the way to go, this one is simply skills and AC builder honing, with the addition of an arena to put yourself to the final test.(hint: in ALL AC games so far, the AI cheats in terms of overloading the ac without negative results, thus making the game more challenging than pushing a button to win, as this reviewer seems to have thought.) This is the most difficult ones yet, simply because its actually pushing my pilot abilites to the limit, and no small wonder why when I see the gameplay preview of AC4. Cont

ses of massive amounts of on screen information is likely going to have better visuals, simply because theres a ceiling that is easily reachable in terms of the limit of information, such as in the FF series. they look so good because theres no new information to generate out of thin air, its all premade and sits there once you load the area. Control: its meant to be difficult to control. what you're looking for is some kiddy game where you win despite sucking the big one in the skills department. theres a bit of realism to the fact you cant make a 30 ton giant move like a cat unless you actually learn how to use its boosters as well as quick turn manuevers. all of the people who're skilled as pilots would run circles around you and laugh their asses off at your crying. gameplay: This is a sort of primer, or skillbuilder game for the next in the series to come. its meant to do the same thing boot camp does. you take on seperate exercises, honing different skills and tactics, such

my impression of this reviewer? A total asshole/noob, and heres why. This is the 7th game in a series of games, the company that makes it hasnt died yet, suspiciously. Let me say now this is a good time to tell everyone that AGETEC doesnt make the game, simply has published it into america. this one actually has far better control than the first, and yes it is hard for a retard whos never played to understand how the game works. And likening something which has developed a strong fanbase and is on its way to the PS3 as "... a game freshly made by an unimaginative nerd in his basement, on his PC while he was waiting for his porn to finish downloading." is wrong, both from a coding viewpoint, as well as the time and effort spent balancing the game itself, and the graphics arent bad either. this game isnt going to have the best graphics of all, simply because framerate becomes and issue for any game that can have so much going on at once. a well controlled environment with no random incre
