The Las Vegas Hash House a Go Go is a tasty place to have breakfast. Located in the more residential area of the city off of Sahara, the restaurant is a comfortably upscale joint.

Portions are HUGE-you've been duly alerted. If you can agree, share! The wait staff are all young, hip, many covered in tattoos, friends and very professionally efficient. Have a food allergy? They'll make suggestions. You're watching your cholesterol-they'll gladly use egg-whites only.

Even though it is a "hash house", everything that comes out of the kitchen has a creatively gourmet spin. This was our third time visiting the restaurant. Twice my husband and I have come in all by ourselves, one time we took our adult children.

Some of the dishes we've tried and enjoyed are the smoked salmon and asparagus hash with poached eggs, a roasted vegetable hash, a special granola pancake (that covered a huge plate) with peaches, pecans and maple syrup, vanilla and chocolate chip waffles, a fajita steak hash and an egg white with sun dried tomatoes and goat cheese scramble. Most dishes are served with homemade biscuits. My husband and I usually prefer the very tasty toasted whole wheat or rye bread. There is always a full jar of homemade triple berry jam waiting to cover any of the above right on the table. They other side is a choice between grilled garlic mashed potatoes or crispy potatoes.

Juices are hand squeezed and come in a couple of sizes-immensely big and huge.

Now for me, a really good breakfast must include excellent coffee and Hash House a Go-Go has an excellent blend. The next thing I think of is that I don't want to have to hunt someone down to get a re-fill, and I never have had to do that here. Whether it's the waitperson, bus person or one of the hostesses, someone is always walking around tending to everyone's empty coffee cups, water glasses, tea pots and sodas.

We were asking our latest waiter if the owners were planning on expanding. He informed us that this was the second venue. The first restaurant opened in the year 2000 in San Diego, California. We suggested that they open one closer to our origination point-South Orange County, California!

Did You Know?
We love eating in places that take normal foods and make them with a twist. Hash House a Go Go does just that.
