Unique Ideas for Marriage Proposals

You've spent lots of time thinking about it and now is the time. Valentine's Day is just a month and a half away and you plan to ask that special someone in your life to be with you forever. You know that she's been thinking about this for quite some time also and that she's been wondering how exactly it's going to happen. It needs to be special for her and out of the ordinary. You want only the best, and that includes a unique proposal. It needs to be something that will wow her and that she will remember for the rest of her life. But what can you do?

Borrow an up-and-coming band:
Know a buddy who is in a small local band? A lot of these bands play small venues or events around their immediate area, such as in bars or at festivals. Plan it out with your friend beforehand, detailing everything that you want to happen. Tell your girl that you made plans for the two of you to go see your friends show, something she won't think is out of the ordinary. When you get there, settle in and get ready to watch the performance, treating it as any other night. In the middle of the show have your friend (or lead singer, whichever is best) announce to the audience what a special night it is. He will continue on to say that he has a great friend who really cares about a girl and wants to be with her forever. This is your cue. Grab your girl by the hand and take her up to the stage. Take the microphone from your friend and tell her your feelings about her and ask for her hand in marriage. You can't go wrong with this one. Being in front of an audience and being the center of attention will make this day one of a kind and very memorable for her.

Another idea - work with the band in writing a song specifically tailored to her. In the song, describe your favorite moments that you two share and how much you love her. At the end, have the song ask if she will marry you. You may or may not be the one singing the song, but you will be the one sitting next to her when she listens to it, and at the end of the song you can get down on one knee so that she knows that this was meant for her. The thought alone will make her feel like a million bucks, just make sure you keep a copy of the lyrics for her to hold on to.
