Sacred Space Healing Center Offers an Intro to Meditation Workshop

"The Universe is change; our life is what our thoughts make it." (Marcus Aurelius.) This sounds like some modern New Age guru stating that our thoughts can control the universe. Actually, this quote dates back to antiquity: Roman emperor Marcus Aurelius Antoninus during his campaign against the Marc
omanni in 167 A.D. Thoughts become engraved on our mind and then become our beliefs. If you do not change your beliefs, your life will remain the same forever. The more investment you have in your beliefs the harder it is to change them. The more one accepts his ability to change, the more results can be obtained. The rewards in life go to those who are willing to release the past, surrendering what cannot be changed. Change takes place when you train your mind to desire what the situation demands.

Take some time out from the media and demands that life places on you to listen to the still small voices within and find what is truly within your heart. Let go of the anger and grievances and learn to find peace in this moment. This is the only moment that truly exists. The past is gone, the future is a mystery and this moment is a gift, that's why we call it the present.

Before you can break out of the prison of your mind, you must first realize that you are locked up in that prison. Thinking patterns get so cemented in place that our very coping skills become our next prison cell. Come join us for an afternoon of meditation instruction, inspirational talks, contemplative practices, poetry, and music from a variety of traditions

"You don't have to be a Buddhist to share in the afternoon. As when Buddha taught, sitting under a tree in a forest grove, everyone is welcome," said Helena Osak, Change Your Mind coordinator. "Because the teachings and meditation focus on awareness and compassion, they can be appreciated by anyone wanting more spiritual understanding. Change Your Mind Day reflects the Buddhist concept that if we transform our thinking from confusion to wisdom, we will have much happier lives
