Blisters can be caused by a number of things, including uncomfortable or tight shoes, constant rubbing against something with parts of your body, burns, herpes, and allergies just to name a few. Blisters hurt and can be very unattractive but there are a number of household items in your house or that you can purchase to quickly heal and prevent those painful and unattractive blisters.

Aloe Vera is a jewel as a healing product. Not only does it have other healing qualities for internal use but it heals externally as well. It will quickly heal blisters and soothe the pain from blisters caused by burns. Rub on a generous amount of either the gel several times a day everyday until the blister heals. However, the extract from the aloe vera plant works even better to quickly heal blisters.

You can also try these other helpful household items to quickly heal blisters. Listerine can be used for more than getting a clean refreshing mouth it can disinfect and heal a broken blister by dabbing a small amount on the blister everyday. Preparation H reduces swelling for those with hemorrhoids but it can also be used to reduce the swelling of a blister by applying some Preparation H on the blister everyday. Never thought Smirnoff Vodka had so many uses other than drinking, but it does. Dab a cotton ball soaked with vodka on the skin where a blister has opened. The vodka works as an anesthetic to disinfect the exposed skin.

Cut a thin Maxi pad in the shape of a donut, put the hole part of the donut shaped pad over the blister exposing the blister. Fit the pad securely over the skin surrounding the blister with the adhesive strip. This will protect the blister and allow it to breath. After washing the blister, you can apply a generous amount of Vaseline to lubricate the skin providing much needed moisture to the blister.

Thank you for posting this. I kept finding articles that suggested using moleskin cut into a donut shape...I never thought of using a thin maxi pad.

This better work. Got a badass blister on my toe, gets worse by the second. Would probably take some ointment on, but all i have in my dorm is lemon flavored vodka. Hope I won't get blood poisoning. Next time I wont punctuate it. After all, the reason we get them is for the "water" in the blister to soothe the irritated skin.
