The destinations for college students are quickly changing for Spring Break. It used to be that Fort Lauderdale and Panama City were really the only two "in spots" to be and be seen. Now though many college students are heading out of the country, to places like Mazatlan,Mexico. Mazatlan, Mexico has become a popular destination based on the large variety of entertainment that is available for college students, along with the abundant amount of dance floor space available for them at the bars which are destinations themselves.

There are two main areas if you want to go see the bars in Mazatlan while on Spring Break. These include The Golden Zone which is more of a beach themed area, and the Fiesta Land which is hosted in a castle-like building. The Golden Zone tends to be a little more laid back, meanwhile Fiesta Land is where you want to go if you want to dance and enjoy the view of the other partiers.

The best bar in the Golden Zone for party goers would have to be Joe's Oyster Bar. During the day it fits into the environment of the rest of the area as a lazy beach area to have some colorful tropical drinks and enjoy the sun. At night though, as long as you are willing pay the high prices for the mixed drinks you will find a lot of entertainment. Here dancing on the tables isn't only permitted, it is encouraged.

If you'd rather escape the beach as the night arrives, head over to Fiesta Land. This is a castle-like building that has sports bars, karaoke bars, and piano bars inside. The most popular bar here is Valentino's which is a dance club. It plays a variety of music, including Spanish music of course, hip-hop, and techno. The smoke and the lasers add to exciting environment where many end up dancing on the bars themselves. Another popular bar with affordable drinks in Fiesta Land is Bora Bora. Here there is a $10 cover, but drinks are only $3.60 each after that. You can even dance in a cage here if you want, or on the 2 dance floors at the bar. Of course if you run out of room on the dance floors you can dance on the bar as well.

Takeaways
  • The Golden Zone is more of a beach bar type area, where you can enjoy the sun or moon and drinks.
  • The Fiesta Land area is themed on a castle, and this tends to be the wilder of the party areas.
  • Don't forget about Coliseo's if you want top-shelf drinks before finishing with lower quality drinks
