My Favorite Christmas Gift of 2007: from My Children

I could say that getting gadgets and such from my husband are the best gifts; as they are pretty cool and I can always use a new gadget, but I cannot; as the best gifts were either made or purchased by my children. My son made two wonderful gifts and my girls purchased gifts with their own hard earned money. Now, they didn't need to spend a dime in order to make me happy; but the look on their faces; knowing they were able to give me something other than their wonderful hugs and kisses was precious.

My son wanted to give me the gift he made as soon as he came home from school; the first day of vacation. He was absolutely adorable and I managed to get him to wait until Christmas to finally give said gift. He told me he loved me so much and wanted me to have the gift early. Isn't that just so sweet?

So my girls went out with their father and purchased my gifts. My 13 year old bought me a pretty necklace with a greenish stone pendant that includes a key and lock. My 11 year old bought me a pair of earrings with a similar greenish stone; so they matched even though they were not necessarily meant to match. They know I love jewelry and how wonderful of my children to actually get me something they know I will enjoy.

Christmas day was a wonderful day for us as a family. I opened the gifts from my children first. The smiles on their faces; priceless and I wouldn't give up those type of moments for anything in the world. Even though my children didn't get as much this year as in years past, we tried to get them what they wanted (within in reason of course). There is one gift that we had no problem with giving them Christmas day, nor any other day of the year; A happy family!

Aside from the physical gifts I received; I can say that one of the other gifts to make the best list would have to be my family and their love.
