"Hannah Montana" Star Miley Cyrus the Subject of Racy Photos

On December 30, Access Hollywood reported that photographs showing "Hannah Montana" star Miley Cyrus "frolicking on the floor" with a female friend are available on the Internet. During a radio interview with New York's Z100 prior to her concert on Friday evening, Cyrus said "They're nothing bad," but some celebrity watchers have dissenting opinions.

Posted December 27 on the controversial, celebrity-stalking website Perezhilton.com, the photos show Cyrus getting close and sharing a piece of candy with a female friend, who remains nameless as of this writing. Cyrus dismisses it simply as "innocent fun" and "two girls at a sleepover," but fueled by rumors that Lindsay Lohan is a lesbian, star watchers are wondering if Cyrus is following suit.

In all honesty, Perez Hilton is one of the worst examples of celebrity journalism on the Internet. His sloppy blog gets millions of visitors and he has parlayed his Internet success into a high-paying career at the expense of celebrities, even ones as young as Miley Cyrus.

The Cyrus photos are the latest cloud over the head of Billy Ray Cyrus' daughter. In September, rumors circulated that young Miley was expecting, but she quickly dismissed these allegations. On ExtraTV.com, she's quoted as saying "It's given me the street cred to say that would be impossible, because I'm living my life the way I believe is right and that is to stay pure."

One has to give Cyrus credit for taking the high road once again and addressing rumors about her orientation head-on. She's not hanging her head in shame, which gives her quite a bit of credibility.
