Can We Fight Our Failing Economy?

21
Ever since the North American Free Trade Agreement, more and more companies have packed up and moved across the border to hire cheaper labor. This has put many people out of work, people who no longer purchase the products they would have because of their lack of income, which results in other companies having to downsize and putting more people out of work. Those people also have had to adjust their consumer habits, and the snowball just keeps growing.

With our free trade laws and companies desiring to maximize their profits out of greed, the American economy is floundering. Last year we saw banks fall into trouble because of so many bad mortgage accounts because people being put out of work can no longer make their mortgage payment. While the government keeps telling us how strong our economy is, anyone with insight will realize they're just blowing smoke to make us feel good. So what can we as individuals and citizens do to fight the failing economy?

One thing we can do is to let the companies know that if they don't support America, then America does not want their goods. For example RCA was one of the first electronic companies to move to Mexico to assemble their products. Well, who do you think is buying RCA products? It is Americans. What we need to do as Americans is let the corporations and the government know that we will not tolerate this. If they sell out American jobs, then Americans will not buy their products. Let them sell their products in Mexico, Taiwan, and China, and see how their profit grows.

I've heard too many times of companies and people with money and power talking about your loyalty to them. Well where is their loyalty? Don't they realize they are the root of our Failing Economy?

  • Banks are failing, American workers are being laid off because companies are outsourcing labor.
  • We can stop companies from moving out by not buying their products.
  • We can stave off a depression by helping each other out and buying goods from individuals
