Temptation in the Garden of Eden

Why We Failed Then is Why We Fail Now!

How was Eve deceived by the serpent in the Garden of Eden? She was deceived by the serpent getting her to question Gods word. She was also tempted by her own desires because the Serpent told her that if she ate of the tree of knowledge she would know right and wrong like God, therefore she would be like God. This desire to exalt ourselves is indicative of human nature, from the time we are children to perhaps our dying day, to do something or accomplish something that exalts us, something we hope people will remember us by or something we hope will impress others.

First we see Satan making us question Gods' word today, even in many churches. We have learned so much about the nature of creation, the atomic structures, how solid and long lasting rocks and the foundation of the earth are, that even today we find it hard to believe that creation could have happened spontaneously, it must have taken millions of years to accomplish. So by using what we have been lead to believe through knowledge we find once again Satan working into our minds to question Gods' word.

The sin of course was not induced by the eating of the apple and the knowledge it provided, but rather it was the disobedience of God. When we reach the age of accountability, we know or at least have a good feeling about what is right and what is wrong, and God has implanted this in us as a part of His word to us. When we do something we KNOW is wrong, then we have taken a bite of the apple, we have disobeyed God just as Eve did, then we have guilt, and no longer are we the same person we were.

Likewise, the second prong of Satan's attack is that we will be like God. This too is alive today in many of the new age religions teach us that God is in us, or we are Gods. The whole concept of our evolutionary progress into God like creatures or evolving into a Spiritual existence.

Wow, impressive. I love God and I love your article. It is a good way to spread some truth to those who don't know the word or work of God.
