Horseback riding requires skills, good co-operation between man and horse, and good equipment and clothing. Jodhpurs are specialized pants designed especially for horseback riding. Keep in mind that Jodhpurs are not your only choice as there are many other different specialized pants for horseback riding with different designs and cutting. The main objective is to find yourselves pants which you believe are most helpful towards you, and your horseback riding activity.

Jodhpurs are intended to be durable and comfortable to the wearer. They are designed for many different activities including jumping, dressage and eventing. Because they can be worn in so many different activities, are durable, and comfortable, many stores and catalogues carry Jodhpurs. Remember to always try on a pair to ensure a good fit before purchasing. Because of this reason, purchasing from catalogues may not be the best choice.

Jodhpurs are made from an elastic material, and are generally creamy or white colored although there are many different designs nowadays. They are a snug fit at the knee with flaring hips. The snug fit on the knee is to accommodate the boots. There are special Jodhpur boots which you can find will extend to a bit above the knee. The flaring hips are for easy access and movements for the rider.

Other than the design, Jodhpurs are still a bit different than other pants. The most important aspect is that they are seemed differently. The Jodhpurs are seamed on the outside, and the seams curve to avoid contact with the saddle. This way, the seams will avoid rubbing onto our skin, and causing irritation. In fact, it is supposedly so comfortable that many refer to it as their second skin.
