Zac's Backs: NFL Wild Card Weekend Picks

Welcome back to the only picks here on Associated Content that took last week off due to an odd combination of mourning and Christmas cheer. This is Zac's Backs.

In reality, I spent all of last week back home with family and friends and thus was unable to access any internet. Is it too much to ask my folks to purchase wireless internet for the times that I'm visiting? I sure don't think so. Regardless, I am back and I brought more than just presents back to my apartment this year. One of the worst head colds in recent memory has become my new friend. Hooray.

I'm going back to bed after these picks and that's all the motivation I need. Here is the Wild Card edition of Zac's Backs.

Washington at Seattle

All clichés aside, the Washington Redskins really are one of the best stories in the NFL this season. Joe Gibbs is proving that he still has "it" and the Redskins are playing better than anybody could have expected after the shocking death of Sean Taylor. Then there's Todd Collins. Todd Collins? At this point, why not?

The Seahawks are one of the many question mark teams in the NFL this season. At times this year I couldn't help but wonder if Seattle could pose a threat to either Green Bay or Dallas. There were also games when Seattle looked like they couldn't beat the Dolphins. A lot of this inconsistency can be attributed to the lackluster play of Shaun Alexander. Anybody who picked up Alexander early in his or her fantasy draft this year knows what I'm talking about.

Seattle is one of those underrated home-field atmospheres that can change the course of any football game. This is going to be a hard hitting, physical game. It's going to stay close but I can't pick against Seattle at home.
