Try something different this year and give a Valentine's Day gift that doubles as a shot of hope for breast cancer patients and their loved ones. Did you know that numerous online retailers donate a portion of the proceeds from gift item sales to breast cancer research? Before you run out and buy a box of chocolates and a bouquet of flowers from the grocery store, check out these items to see if one might tickle your Valentine's fancy.

Pink Ribbon Cookies from Really Good Cookies. Florida-based Really Good Cookies offers up tasty fresh-baked treats that will leave your Valentine wishing for more. Each box of Pink Ribbon Cookies contains an assortment of six brownies and cookies, and is decorated with breast cancer awareness' signature ribbon. Each box is priced at $22.50, and twenty percent of each sale will be donated to the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute, which is seeking a cure for breast cancer. To purchase, visit http://www.reallygoodcookies.com/. You can visit the Moffitt Center here: http://www.moffitt.usf.edu/ .

Flowers from the FTD Pink Ribbon Collection. If your Valentine loves flowers, check these out. This collection from FTD features four bouquest and two potted plants. Prices range from $39.99 to $59.99, and ten percent of the merchandise price will be donated to the Y-ME National Breast Cancer Organization. Y-ME's mission is to provide information and support to those affected by breast cancer. To make a purchase, visit http://www.ftd.com/. I am so glad that you wrote this article! I lost my mother to breast cancer, and my grandmother is a survivor. Because it runs in the family, I always am especially appreciative of those who give to the cause since any advancements in cancer research may help to save my, my sister's, or my children's lives. So many people are touched by breast cancer, who wish they would have never been forced to truly understand chemo and radiation.

I am so glad you wrote this article and I sincerely hope many will consider this as a choice for a gift. My grandmother was a breast cancer survivor, so my sister and I have a fun "competition" too see who can find what with the pink ribbon. I am currently winning the most unique category with a breast cancer toothbrush :)
