Finding ways to make your money go further each week is becoming a necessity for most families. Money you use to put aside each week for groceries, gasoline, electric, just to name a few, no longer will pay the same bills. Each time you pull into a gas station to buy gas, it seems the numbers on the gas pump for price-per-gallon are going higher by the minute as you stand there getting ready to pump fuel into your car. No longer can you plan on setting aside the same amount for necessities because with the changing prices the same amount just won't cover what it use to.
If you have taken the time to stroll around the grocery store, (and who hasn't?) you will find the price increases on many of your standard food purchases. Just during my last visit to the grocery, the price of eggs per dozen increased along with the price per loaf of bread. Those were just two of the more noticeable increases that stood out while I was attempting to buy my normal load of groceries. Stretching the grocery budget is something a lot of people are doing each week, not just to save money, but to put the regular amount of healthy food on the table at each mealtime.
It seems the prices are increasing but the wages are staying the same for most of the people I know. If you have ever talked with those that survived The Depression or if you have even read anything about the Great Depression , you have already heard the same slogan used over and over about how they survived. "Wear it out, use it up, or do without" . This may be the future slogan we will all be forced to adopt. Concerning my own lifestyle, I have already been doing this for some time. I use it up; I wear it out; or I do without.
If you want to try to save your family budget at the grocery store, you will need to find ways to stretch the foods you normally buy to prepare the meals your family enjoys.
