Many college football fans say having home field advantage gives teams roughly 3-7 points. Call it an adrenaline-induced advantage, or call the theory bonkers. Yet, LSU takes on Ohio State about as close to home as possible. The top-ranked teams square off Monday, Jan. 7, for the National crown in the BCS Championship Game at the Superdome in New Orleans.

In one of most bizarre years of college football, LSU enters the title game, incredibly, with two loses, while Ohio State's only setback came at the hands of the Fighting Illini, who were floored by USC on New Year's.

The Buckeyes are outmatched by LSU's athleticism and speed, but hope to counter with an extremely physical defensive line. Offensively, OSU likely will pound the ball up the middle in a traditional, Big Ten-like bruising behind running back Chris Wells. If quarterback Todd Boeckman can get a quick start, OSU has the potential to leave the Tigers confused.

LSU counters with its own offensive punch. Senior quarterback Matt Flynn returns after missing the SEC championship game with an injury, and has hinted earlier this week that the Tigers plan to test the Buckeye secondary.

OSU returns to the BCS Championship Game after getting blown away by Florida in 2006, and looks to remain a staple as a new powerhouse in college football. However, LSU and head coach Les Miles have the potential to inspire the New Orleans area with a victory.

Prediction: Flynn and LSU's athletic receivers storm past OSU, 42-14.
