Typical Weekend

It won't end tonight
The coals died
And my soul cried
I wanted to slam my head down
Anything to stop the pain
My face wrinkled like an old woman's
I'm supposed to depend on you!
Someone has to be
The man of the house
I guess it isn't you
But I don't remember
Applying for the position
You don't like it
When I'm actually speaking my mind
When I'm spilling the truth
Being myself and an adult at the same time
So don't ask me to take on
Your responsibility
Give me what I want
What is good for me
Not convenient for you
She stands by in a corner
She won't invade this time
She's learned how and when
To fight her battles
I'll learn, too,
With constants like this
The coals cried
And my soul died
She's been angry for seven years
It won't end tonight
And tomorrow won't be
A new beginning
