In this presidential election you can be sure that not only will the front runners be in the spotlight, but their wives will be as well. In this article you will get to know two Democratic and two Republican potential candidate spouses, what they've done, what their backgrounds are, and some of their personal goals and interests.

Potential Democratic Presidential Candidate: Barack Obama
Wife:
Michelle Obama

Michelle Obama was born on January 17, 1964 in the city of Chicago. She graduated from Whitney M. Young Magnet High School, went to Princeton University for her undergraduate education, and then graduated from Harvard Law School in 1988.

Three years after law school while working as an associate at Chicago law firm Sidley and Austin, she met Barack Obama. In 1991 she decided to leave the world of corporate law and pursue a career in public service. Michelle has been extremely committed to public service, thus her employment and involvement with the mayor, the commissioner of planning and development for the City of Chicago, Public Allies, and even with the University of Chicago and the Medical Center.

Now living on the south side of Chicago with their two daughters Malia, and Sasha, she and Barack are very committed to bringing the United States forwards with their vision of the future.

Potential Democratic Presidential Candidate: John Edwards
Wife: Elizabeth

Elizabeth Edwards, the daughter of a decorated Navy pilot attended school in Japan in her early years. For her undergraduate degree she attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and got her law degree from UNC Law School in May of 1977.

I did not remember why until today when someone suggested to me he would make a great Vice President. I went back to where I began at the candidates Introduction videos on You Choose '08. Edwards featured a song I never liked (Hair) with images of hair. The video clips of war that followed, along with the song, sent a message. But it did not seem to have been created for all citizens of the USA. Evidently his intro did not appeal to the demographics that use You Tube, judging by his Channel views. Michelle Obama impressed me because she seems like someone I could sit down and chat with over coffee about the trials and tribulations of womanhood, motherhood and guys. A down to earth real person.

Speaking of volunteering and hearts of gold I think Elizabeth Kucinich fits the bill on that one. I do not however feel the US is ready for a just turned 30 year old as First Lady. I also do not think Bill Clinton meets the criteria for First Man in the White House. Personally I do not care how great the lady is if she is married to a Republican. The dark years of the Republican held Congress that works overtime to do it's best to destroy in what is supposed to be a democracy has caused me to vow never to vote Republican. I have not looked at Elizabeth Edwards because I rule him out early on as my President of choice.
