Blenders are one of those small kitchen appliances that we all add to our home as we get older and realize that a fashionable kitchen is as important as our clothing. The KitchenAid 5-Speed Professional Blender and the Cuisinart SmartPower Premier Blender are the modern evolution of the original blender. The blender was invented in 1921 by a man named Stephen Poplawski and the world has been mixing frozen drinks and milk shakes ever since. The thought of comparing blenders would probably not cross the minds of anyone under 30 or who has not planned a wedding and registered for gifts. For those of you out there who know how much easier a blender can make your life here is a comparison of the KitchenAid 5-Speed Professional Blender and the Cuisinart SmartPower Premier Blender.

When buying a quality blender like the KitchenAid 5-Speed Professional Blender and the Cuisinart SmartPower Premier Blender there are a few qualities I consider very important: ice grinding capabilities, ease of operation, and how it looks resting on my stylish kitchen counter.

Battle of the Ice Grinders:

Ok, in this battle the KitchenAid 5-Speed Professional Blender beats the Cuisinart SmartPower Premier Blender hands down. The KitchenAid blender has a mixing sensor that automatically adjusts blending speed to ensure you get a smooth daiquiri every time. Now, that is a far cry from the cheap blender I had in college that ended up in a smoking mess after working its way through one two many frozen concoction for my friends and me. Thank goodness it was full of ice, or I may have caught the house on fire! The powerful motor in the KitchenAid 5-Speed Professional Blender was specifically built to blend ice for as long as you could dish it out. A unique blade design makes ice chop like butter. All silliness aside though, if you like to make a lot of smoothies for breakfast or milkshakes for dessert for your family this is definitely a great blender. The Cuisinart SmartPower Premier Blender did a good job chopping and blending ice, far better than my first blender, but the obvious winner is definitley the KitchenAid 5-Speed Professional Blender.

Takeaways
  • The KitchenAid blender has a mixing sensor that automatically adjusts.
