Sheer Cover vs Bare Minerals: Battle of the Mineral Powder Foundations

Two Great Products with One Unique Make Up

One of the newest crazes in foundation makeup is the invention of mineral powder foundations. Products like Sheer Cover and bare Minerals dominate this market. Mineral
powder foundation makeup is 100% pure natural ingredients, free of oils, irritants, talc, and preservatives. Basically, products like bare Minerals and Sheer Cover are answers to a growing demand for natural products that work. Mineral powder foundations go two steps further than traditional liquid foundations and one step past those powder foundations that go on like a powder but cover like a liquid. By offering the amazing coverage of a liquid foundation, but eliminating the messy bottle, breakouts, and caked on look that many liquid foundations have, products like Sheer Cover and Bare Minerals have virtual taken over the mineral powder foundation market.

Although you might be tempted to believe that companies and products like bare Minerals are relatively new, you would be mistaken. Bare Minerals has been around since 1976. Personally, I just began seeing these products on infomercials about five years ago. There are many knock offs of these two great products, but I personally don't see why anyone would settle for less than the real deal. You can buy bare Minerals online at their website or locally in their stores. To buy Sheer Cover you has to purchase it online or over the telephone directly from the company. I will provide ordering information at the end of the article. First though, we have to get down to the battle royal of Sheer Cover versus bare Minerals.

I have been a user of bare Minerals for 4 years. I have recently switched to Sheer Cover and in my opinion it gives better coverage. At times Bare Minerals would look powdery and not cover my blemishes very well. But with Sheer Cover the liquid foundation and then applying the powder makes my skin look way better and even.

The SC customer service is kind of pathetic. It is frustuating to deal with them sometime. I feel for you Jill. That's why I buy it on Ebay instead. If you paid them by credit card, you can explain to your credit card company and they might be able to help you to get your overpaid amount back. Good luck

DO NOT buy Sheer Cover! I ordered the intro. special ($29.95) and they charged me for THREE months. When I called them on it they WOULD NOT return my money back to me!

- Continue If BE product still doesn't work for you, you might be able to return it as long as it is still relatively new and not being used more than 10%. Many stores have very good return policy. I like both products. They are relatively good. I still love SC product more causez it gives me better complexion and my face has natural glow.

Treasa, Did you pick the shade with right undertone for your complexion? That might be a reason why you have the shiny bronzy look on your face. BE product is little bit tricky. For one shade, they have THREE different options for undertone (Pink, Netural, and yellow). It's hard to figure out what will be the right one without applying it on our face. Best way is to have someone from Store/Salon to do color match on your face. Also mineral veil might be able to fix your problem. Mineral veil helps your foundation set whole day long. It works as a oil absorber as well. I realize that, by the end of the day, certain women will have similar problem due to the oil production on their face and oil mixes with foundation to cause color variation. Try to apply mineral veil right after the foundation or if you have been using it, try to apply little bit more on the oily zone on your face. It might help your problem. If BE product still doesn't work for you, you might be abl

I have the hardest time with foundation make-ups I used to use the heavy pancake from Aveda which actually wasn't too bad in the 90's but the older I got I wanted less weight with more coverage.. I too oreder the SC and absolutely loved it the concealer is the best I have not been able to beat it yet.. I have a few acne scars and now age or sun spots and it covers them. The powder foundation is great light and holds up even during a 45 minute run :-) I too found the delivery annoying so I cancelled and I now buy it on EBay. I recentely tried the Bare Essentials until my order came in and I waster $60 it is awfu awful it leaves a very shiny bronzy look on your face that I do not like and the coverage does not compare to SC at all my face looked so bad I wouldn't be caught in public with it on.

I have used both and in my opinion Bare Mineralas is better.

Well i'll tell you all that i am very skeptical and choosey person when comes with makeup. After bought two mineral products such as sheer cover and bare mineral. And my best choice is bare mineral because the texture of bare minerals is very very fine and not too dry or sticky feeling like sheer cover does.

I have used both Bare Minerals (Bare Escentuals) and Sheer Cover and have found that Bare Minerals is the superior product. I have fair skin, which I think can be slightly more difficult to find a natural foundation to match or enhance my skin tone and Bare Minerals Fair looks beautiful. I also found that the texture of of Sheer Cover was too dry and powdery, but Bare Minerals had a nicer, creamier feel and look. A more "Air-Brushed" finish. I also like all of the blushes that Bare Escentuals (i.e. Bare Minerals) has in their product line, especially the Radiance shades - "Rose Radiance" is my favorite! Best Wishes to both companies ~ any products that are 100% pure and natural are to be commended!
