When I am eating fast food simplicity is king. I say this because 99% of the time I am eating fast food I am doing it while driving 70 mph down the interstate. The last thing I want while trying to drive is to look down and find that the ketchup and other toppings have fallen out the back of a burger to become a new design on my favorite shirt. Not only does this ruin my shirt but it also ruins my food experience. Yet there I was yet again at the drive-thru window of a local Wendy's restaurant trying to decide between the Junior Cheeseburger Deluxe and the Junior Bacon Cheeseburger when I noticed a new item added to the 99 cent value menu. I figured I could not go wrong in ordering the new item since I would only be out 99 cents if I did not like it.

After receiving my cheeseburger and pulling back out into traffic, I opened the silver foil wrapper and found to my surprise what I now consider to be the simplest, best tasting burger that can be found in a fast food chain. This double cheeseburger is not your average drive-thru double cheeseburger. It is comprised of two burgers, one slice of American cheese, ketchup and mayonnaise. That's it, nothing more. No mustard. No onions. No pickles. Just a few simple ingredients make up this cheeseburger but I did not find myself missing any of the other popular toppings. The taste reminded me of hamburgers made at home and brought thoughts of summertime cookouts to mind. The cheese was actually melted onto the burger rather than just being a cold slice of cheese thrown on top. The bun was not greasy but the burger was just greasy enough. A napkin was not necessary and neither was a trip to the dry-cleaners.

After trying the Stack Attack Double Cheeseburger I demanded that my husband try it. He has a big appetite and it usually takes more to satisfy him than it does me. To my amazement he had two of the Stack Attack's and claimed to be full. So no only is the Stack Attack delicious but it is very filling as well.

Not a fan of mayo so i get mustard and ketchup, but I have to agree. These are great cheeseburgers.
