Amazing Race Asia 2 - the Halfway Point

The Amazing Race Asia is now mid-way through its second season. Several teams have been eliminated, a couple of teams have been close, and strong personalities are emerging. It's been an interesting season so far and looks like it will have an increasingly interesting progression to the finale. Here's a run down of the teams, both those already eliminated from the race and those still running.

Eliminated in the First Round - Edwin and Monica from Hong Kong

The first team to be eliminated from the race was Edwin and Monica. They seemed to struggle with the speed of the race and were marked for elimination at the end of the first episode as they arrived last in Manila. The next leg of the race didn't improve for their and Edwin came off as an arrogant jerk as he chastised Monica over and over when they had to do the 'put a bike together' challenge. They arrived at the pit stop last and were eliminated. Quite interesting especially as Edwin had said in the confessional that "Rob and Amber should be scared of us". (Rob and Amber were contestants on Survivor and Amazing Race Season 7). Yet Edwin and Monica were eliminated first. Guess it doesn't always pay to be conceited?

Eliminated in the Second Round - Brett & Kinaryosih (Kinar) from Indonesia

Eliminated in the second round were Brett and Kinar. This couple were adorable. Cute, polite and sweet, but again they also didn't seem to be good at the speed of the race. They got lost, which really slowed them down and they were extremely slow finding clues in the Howick Historical Village challenge. At one point Brett even announced they were lost and just decided to 'slow down and enjoy the visit'. Huh? It's a race!

They didn't get to finish the second leg of the race as, when they arrived at the boat challenge, it was already closed for the night. Alan Wu, the host, then arrived to tell them they had been eliminated from the race as the rest of the teams had already checked in.

Eliminated in the Third Round - Sophie & Aurelia from Hong Kong
