In a speech shown on CNN, Senator Barack Obama gives words worthy of a future-president after his win with the Iowa caucuses. While advertising Americans as people who prefer "unity" over "division", he promises to improve their lives in three different areas - physically, socially and economically.
Physically, he plans on improving the lives of Americans by offering a health plan that is affordable by all. It's similar to what he implemented in Illinois. In an interview prior to this CNN live-event, he described his plan as one that would create a win-win situation for patients and insurance companies. It would lower premiums for many people who can't afford to buy insurance while assisting insurance carriers and hospitals in making a profit.
Socially, Obama wants to bring peace to America's borders by bringing home troops from Iraq along with filling the White House with honest politicians. How he will accomplish this feat is not fully clear to anyone - probably not even himself. Yet, at least he is thinking in the right direction. During past interviews he's briefly discussed breaking down boundaries with foreign nations through talk. He also spoke of attacking the American government by establishing better checks and balances and altering its formation.
Economically, the senator wants to help the poor and middle class through a tax formation. He wants the people in the lower economic rung to pay appropriate taxes for their salaries. The rich will no longer get as many breaks. It's a promise that the majority of tax payers are dying to see.
These promises show that Senator Barack Obama is picking up the pace towards winning the White House. His words and demeanor were charismatic. He sounded like an actual president.
In the finale of his speech, Senator Obama gave thanks to another person in the fashion of any great politician. He thanked his wife. It was a great end to a wonderful speech and a triumphant day.
