The Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister Barham Saleh reported that the corruption which floods the culture of Iraq comes from the international community and the scandal which involved the United Nations.

While at an anti - corruption forum located in Baghdad, the Deputy Prime Minister said that the Oil - for - Food program running between the years of 1996 - 2003 under the United Nations sanctions wasted the use of money and were to blame for rampant corruption that bedevils Iraq. He further went on to claim that the scandals of Oil - for - Food and the wasting of public riches by the U.N was serious evidence which damaged and deepened the problem in the country.

Please, tell us something that we did not know suspect already. Or at least some of us who were not busy hating the President and the Republicans for everything that goes wrong in the world. I am also surprised that the President was not blamed for the Oil - for - Food scandal too. I guess the Bush detractors would have had as little evidence for their claims like there were no weapons of mass destruction.

The corrupt dictator, Saddam Hussein pocketed billions which made him one of the biggest United Nations grafters who opposed the United States (especially under the Bush regime). I see this is the thanks the United States of America gets for helping create and up - keep the United Nations? Maybe this was one of the reasons why the United States was not supported by the corrupt United Nations when it concerned Hussein? Well, because they are hypocrites and strange bedfellows with corrupt third world governments. But in the case of Iraq - fourth world is a better term for that nation.

Takeaways
  • The United Nations was blamed for corruption.
  • The Oil - for - Food was a scam used by Hussein and his buddies.
Did You Know?
Hussein and his government got kickbacks in payments which nearly reached 6 billion dollars.

If you want to know the real reason behind the war in Iraq, follow the money. Saddam switched from trading oil for Dollars to oil for Euros. The same thing that Iran and Venezuela have done. This shift in OPEC nations from the American Dollar to the Euro is devaluing the Dollar and if this trend continues all OPEC member nations will all start trading in the Euro because if they continue with the devalued dollar they will lose their purchasing power. If this happens the Dollar will slip even further and China will sell off the single largest reserve of the American Dollar and the US economy will collapse. That is the number one reason we went into Iraq, and why we have such a hard on for Venezuela and Iran. Read my article Petrodollars Vs. Petroeuros! It is well researched and informative.
