This tape was rumored to have been sold by her estranged husband in August 2007. According to WNBC, Amy Fisher is promoting her celebrity sex tape as the result of a six figure settlement with Red Light District Video, which Lou Bellera sold the tape to in August.

Amy Fisher is most widely known as the Long Island Lolita, the eighteeen year old who shot her lover Joey Buttafuoco's wife Mary Jo in 1992. She was sent to prison and released in 1998. She has been in and out of the public eye since then as a writer, whose bestseller was released while she was still in prison.

This celebrity sex tape by Amy Fisher isn't the first celebrity sex tape in the news in recent years. A rash of celebrity sex tape scandels began after the higly publicized Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee tape that was released in 1998 after being stolen from their home. The tape was not blocked from release, and ultimately in 2001, they took a seven figure settlement and the free publicity. They never actively promoted the tape and were displeased with its release.

Though Hilton fought to block the release of the tape, it brought more media attention to the socialite than any of her other endeavors. Hilton's celebrity sex tape was produced by the same company, Red Light District Video , that is preparing to release Amy Fisher's sex tape. Like Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee, Hilton sought to block the release of the tape, and was unable to do so. She accepted a settlement and did not receive proceeds from the sale of the tape.
