Right now I think we all have to admit that I probably have the longest odds against winning the Content Producer of the Year award this time around. (Okay, with a few exceptions that I won't name.) It is hard to believe it has been almost a year since I was named the inaugural winner of AC's top award. Last year I was asked to write an acceptance speech; this time around I've been kindly asked to write about my experience as AC's first CP of the Year and to look forward to this year's awards. I hope that this article will serve as an inspiration to all those who will win a PMA award this year and in the future, especially to all those writers who occasionally wonder if rejections, low offers, and the other pains that come with writing for AC (or any other site) bring.

This year's PMA awards are a bit different from last year's. This year the focus has narrowed down to the following:

Best Content Producer of 2007: $2,000
Top Performing Content of 2007:
Text (article, editorial or other written work) $1,000
Rich media (video, audio, or slideshow) $1,000
Three text winner $1,000 (each)
Video $1,000
Audio $1,000
Slideshow $1,000
AC Top 1000 of 2007 Recognition

What can winning a PMA award do for you? Attention, for one thing. Even though I won the CP of the Year for my content I produced in 2006, I believe I had a more award-winning year in 2007, in part because of the attention my writing began to get.

I loved this and have read a lot of your work. Even though i was not around in 2006, I still found your writing interesting and continue to read it whenever I get the chance. Congratulations on your past one year reign at being one of the CP's who won the 2006 PMA.

I just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone for the kind words and the time you took to leave them. I hope one day you'll all find yourself in the position to be asked to write a look back at winning an award for you writing; if not here, then somewhere else where your words are allowed to change lives and influence people. Thanks again to all; encouraging words are beneficial to us all, whether we've written just one article or over 2,000.

Tim, nice piece! I like the way you brought others into the lime light. I know I will never be awarded anything for my efforts here but thats not the point. Not for me anyways. I'm not a well educated or talented writer but I have found that I enjoy the effort despite my lack of ability . I have a long way to go and I am enjoying the learning process. Isn't that what it's all about anyways? Another thing I have found that I enjoy here are some of the little know or recognized writers that are truly gifted. People like Vapour in Africa. Man, if you haven't read anything from him you should. May we all be as good as you someday!

Timothy, thank you so much for taking the time out to respond to my question. It's wonderful when a person such as yourself remains humble. Continue on this path and as always great things are destined to find you. Poinciana

Thanks alot and don't forget. . . VIVA LA REVOLUCION!!!

Poinciana: I struggle to write non-gender biased whenever I can and I often use her instead of the universal him or his or he. I do not have any inside information on who will win this year; I don't even know if the winners have been chosen yet. The use of the "her" is merely another example of my liberal woolly-headedness.

Hello Timothy! You know, I must admit I am still fairly new at this, although I love the idea of writing for Associated Content. I hope that my articles will encourage and help to inspire someone. The wonderful thing about becoming a freelance writer, not that I am fully one, but we all have a story or two to share. I enjoyed your article, however In one paragraph you refered to the 2007 overall content producer as a female "her". Would you explain? Forgive me, but I don't believe that the nominees for the 2007 AC Awards have been published. Thanks! Poinciana

Another great article, Tim! Proof-positive why I have your name tatooed on my bicep! (right next to my wife's -- heck after reading this inspiring article I might just scratch off my wife's name and leave yours on there) :)
