The Good
So what good resulted from this past season really? Well, the Red Sox won again in the series to cap off what was a season continually clouded by the steroid dilemma. Most Sox fans feel that was a fitting ending to a season where they almost gave it away to a second-half, scorching Yankee assault on first place in the division. Not only that, but I'm sure a lot of those same Sox fans breathed a sigh of relief when Cleveland ousted the Yanks in the Divisional Series so they didn't have to endure yet another (possibly) tragic ALCS outcome against New York.
Barry Bonds finally eclipsed Hank Aaron as the home run king back in August as he launched #756, despite the strong contentions of all naysayers claiming that he was "enhanced" physically (author is grinning sarcastically as he types). Giants' owner Peter Magowan proved that he was as shrewd as a "boss" when he kept Barry around for one more season to rupture the gate receipts and his pockets. But what is Barry's next destination? Will it be the Angels, the Athletics, or the Graybar Hotel?
