A member here at Associated Content, asked me how I was recording audios for publishing and I thought it would make an informative article to give an overview of how you record audio files via the available software, for posting on websites. There are software downloads out there that allow you to simply plug your own audio player, into the back of your computer sound board and record audios that convert into Mp3 files you can post on websites that are set up to accept them. What you do, is to get a player with an earphone jack and using a wire you can buy at a Radio Shack or other electronics store with the male-jack on each end, you simply plug one end into the earphone and the other into the "blue" input on the back of your computer tower's sound board. This blue input should be right next to the green input, where your computer speakers are plugged in.
The audio you play through the wire you will have already pre-recorded using a microphone and contains the audio you wish to make into an Mp3 file and are playing back into your computer. The software should allow you to hear what you are playing, through your computer speakers. It should also have adjustable recording levels you click on to adjust, a choice of mono or stereo etc... In fact you can also adjust the volume, by simply doing so from the player you use.
Some of my audios I've posted, you'll notice are better than others. The reason for this is because it took me a while to know how to adjust the recording levels and other adjustments but in reality, these different software providers make it easy to use and I should have experimented more before posting as many as I did so quickly. When I say experiment, once you record a file, your own computer saves it in a file and you can click and play it back on your own media-player, to see how it sounds.
