Valentine's Day Craft Ideas: Pink and Black Toilet Paper Valentines
Remember when we were kids and receiving a Valentine from someone was such a big deal? Well, this slightly more grown up and modern pink and black toile version of the classic paper craft will still bring a smile to someone you love's face this year.
For this project, you will need:
- Anna Griffin Dorothy Pink Toile 12" x 12" print paper (found in stores or online at Paper Addict)
- Pink cardstock
- Black cardstock
- Watermark ink
- Fancy lettering rubber stamps
- Black embossing powder
- Heat embossing tool
- Decorative edge scissors
- Regular scissors
- Glue stick
- Pencil
Begin first by folding one sheet of black cardstock in half. Trace half of a heart shape at the folded side. Cut the half heart shape of folded paper with regular scissors. Unfold the black cardstock sheet. Set aside.
Fold the sheet of Anna Griffin Dorothy Pink Toile 12" x 12" print paper in half, with the print side inward. Trace another half heart shape with a pencil in the center towards the fold. This heart shape should be one half inch smaller than the black cardstock shape. Using decorative edge scissors, cut this heart shape out. Unfold and set aside.
Repeat the same process with the pink cardstock. Fold and mark another half heart shape that is one half inch smaller than the pink toile sheet. Cut out using regular scissors and unfold.
Mat the pink toile heart onto the black cardstock heart using a glue stick. Smooth the paper with your fingertips to prevent any bubbles. Mat the pink cardstock heart onto the doubled heart in just the same fashion. Allow the glue to dry for several minutes.
Press the fancy lettering rubber stamps firmly into the watermark ink. Stamp directly onto the pink cardstock area of the valentine. Immediately sprinkle with black embossing powder. Shake off any excess. Heat set with the heat embossing tool. Allow the ink to dry fully.
