While visiting Big Lots, I came across some each Winter Chocolate Bath Bombs that weighed 100g (3.5oz) and were on sale for just $0.50. I was quite happy to buy the last two bath bombs in the hope of adding a new fragrance to my bath. Half of the bath bomb was white and the other half was a purple-brown colour that resembled a granite counter top. But I had every reason to believe that I would be happy with the bath bombs that I had bought.
When I took my next bath, I opened one of the bath bombs and added it to the running water. It started to fizzle rather slowly at first, but then soon fizzled at a faster pace. My cats stopped by to investigate what was going on in the bathroom and they were very captivated by the bath bomb moving around the bath and gradually fizzling out.
The Winter Chocolate Bath Bomb did not release a fragrance, as I had expected. Instead, the bath bomb deposited a purple residue on the sides of the bath. I thought nothing of it at first until it had coated the entire sides of the bath, making it look like I had not cleaned the bath in a month. Before long, I realised that my body had been dyed a shade of purple. It looked like I had been scalded by hot water! Fortunately, the purple dye came out of my skin.
I assumed that a quick rinse of the bath was all that would be required to remove the purple residue from the Winter Chocolate Bath Bomb. However, as I squirted some bathroom cleaner onto the stains and gently rubbed it, I was horrified to discover that the purple stain did not come out very easily. After a lot more scrubbing and a second soak with the bleach bathroom cleaner, the stains finally lifted.
