“Is bigger better?” This debate has raged from Biblical times into the present day and despite my best intents, will probably continue past the reading of this article. If you don’t remember that being in the Bible check out the story of David and Goliath. In this case we’re comparing the bigger name and the bigger price tag of Clinique’s Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion with Aveeno’s Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer.

To be fair and make sure that the products are similar, or what’s the use in comparing them, let’s examine their claims according to each company’s website. Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion: “…maintain optimal moisture balance for very dry skins, or skins dry in the cheeks, comfortable to oily in the T-zone. Softens, smoothes and improves.” Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer: “…even out skin tone, improve skin texture, and leave skin soft and smooth…even good for sensitive skin.” So far, so good. Both products are aimed at skin that is a bit problematic due to dryness or sensitivity and are offering to improve skin texture through their product.

Takeaways
  • Clinique's Dramatically Different Lotion costs over $5.00 an ounce
  • Aveeno's Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer costs over $3.00 an ounce
  • Clinique products are available at department stores while Aveeno products at drugstores
Did You Know?
Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer is oil free, noncomedogenic, hypoallergenic, and contains SPF 15.

Acutally my face felt burning when I put on the Aveeno Positively Radiant Moisturizing Lotion. I am fine with the Aveeno SPF15 lotion. I think it is probably due to the different skin types that these two types of lotions cater to even though they are from the same brand. Never tried Clinique.

I found it interesting that you compared the Aveeno to the Clinique. I've been using Aveeno for years and I love it. I recently moved to Germany from Canada and have not been able to locate the Aveeno products here. I needed a moisturizer so I thought I'd try Clinique, I know of so many people that do use Clinique and swear by it. Well within days I noticed my skin didn"t look as....for lack of a better word radiant! In fact my skin started to feel on the dry side and I've never been prone to being dry. Then the real kicker was when I got up one day washed my face, put the lotion on and then went to work out. My skin started to feel tingly and then it felt like a burning sensation. I couldn't wait to get home to wash it off and I haven't used it since. I have never had a reaction to any skin products before I would say I have normal skin with no sensitivities. So that did it for me, I'm a true blue Aveeno 'girl'(woman) in hot pursuit of my Aveeno and I don't think I'll take a chance tr
