Valentine's Day is a celebration of love for your sweetie so why buy a bunch of materialistic things from the mall that have nothing to do with your relationship? Instead, do things that will make your honey happy. These Valentine's Day gifts can be given to your wife, husband, boyfriend or girlfriend - they will work for a guy or a gal.

Make a fancy dinner
Prepare your honey's favorite dinner. Go all out and get the best of the best - no skimping for Valentine's Day and don't even feel guilty about it. It's not like you do it everyday. If they like crabs or Prime Rib, make it. Serve wine and a fancy dessert with it. And don't forget to decorate the table with a Valentine's theme. Put out a red tablecloth, add heart confetti, light candles, and put jazz music on. Consider my coconut shrimp recipe in the links section of this page.

Take on your spouse's chores
Ok, as unpleasant as this sounds, it truly is a gift of love and the perfect thing to give on Valentine's Day. If your husband usually puts out the trash, do it in honor of Valentine's Day. Bills need to be paid? Make it happen for the month. Dishes not part of your usual routine? Well put it on your agenda in the name of love. Giving your honey the gift of time is the best thing you can give on Valentine's Day. They'll have more time to themselves to do things they enjoy and may even have more energy to spend time with you.

Create a scrap book
With scrap books as popular as they are these days, go to the craftstore and buy a small scrapbook and Valentine's Day themed stickers, stamps, red ribbon and other accents. Add photographs of recent years of you and your honey or even photos of the both of you on Valentine's Day over the years. You can add movie stubs, concert tickets, and anything else that is personal to you and your relationship. Decorate the album and give to your honey as a remembrance on Valentine's Day.
