Losing
weight is a battle many Americans are dealing with, but there are so many diets coming out trying to meet the demand of the evergrowing obesity problem among
American adults, teens, and children. Most of us do not
eat at
home as much as we used to and that it's a problem since more and more meals are eaten out of fast
food restaurants and consisting of a lot of fried and processed
foods sweetened or seasoned with artificially made
products like monosodium glutomate which can do a number on your allergies especially when it's added to chinese
food and used in other dishes. What people don't do is read labels they're too engrossed by how good something looks and how good it tastes without thinking about the fact that it can cause you to gain weight. Society is so geared towards eating and it didnt help when fast
food restaurants started adding the super size and king size portions to their menu which was causing a lot of people to pack on twice the amount of weight. Plus the excessive use of corn syrup and other artificial sweeteners are also a contributing factor in a lot of diabetics not keeping their diabetes in control. Hypertension which is a precursor to diabetes also got out of whack when people consumed excessive amounts of table salt, processed sugar, and
foods containing corn syrup. We also use corn syrup in our
baking since Karo makes dark and light corn syrups for
baking and
cooking and has been for several generations. We didnt think corn syrup was bad for us 30 years ago, but as the generation changed and fast
food restaurants cropped up like
weeds people started eating out even more than they've ever been. Ray Kroc and Colonel Harlan Sanders were the two pioneers that brought fast
food to where it has become a staple in
America society. There's a surge in African-American, Hispanic, and White
children who are among the growing trend of overweight
children since you don't hardly see any overweight Asian
children since their diets are different consisting of fresh
food and mostly vegetables, meat, and fish that's stir-fried not deep fried or overly salted and containing other ingredients.
