Volunteer Opportunities in Chicago, Illinois #1: Chicago Anti-Hunger Association
The Chicago Anti-Hunger Association was founded in 1990 and provides more then 3.6 million meals a year. With that amount of meals being provided, it's no surprise that they are always on the lookout for new volunteers to help their non profit organization. You can chose to work behind the scenes or with the public. If you chose to work with the public you may be working in soup kitchens, shelters and more. To start the volunteering process, call (773) 252-3663. Chicago Anti-Hunger is located at 4345 W. Division Street Chicago, IL 60651.
Volunteer Opportunities in Chicago, Illinois #2: The Art Institute of Chicago
Three positions are currently available at The Art Institute of Chicago. You can work as a Weekend Information Volunteer, Family Program Assistant, or behind the scenes. A Weekend Information Volunteer sits at one of the nine desks in the buildings and help visitors that come to the institute. They also sell memberships. Family Program Assistants help the staff with family programs that are held on the weekends and when school is out. If you'd like to work behind the scenes, you'll be doing clerical work or whatever else the Art Institute needs you to do. The Art Institute of Chicago would like their volunteers to also be members of the Institute. The membership does cost money but if you can't afford it, you may be able to see if they will allow you to volunteer without joining. You will also need to attend an orientation/training before starting. The Art Institute of Chicago is located at 111 South Michigan Avenue Chicago, IL 60603-6404. For more information, call (312) 443-3504.
