During the second day of TandokuCon '07, which is Philadelphia's first Japanese anime convention which was from November 9-11, I had the opportunity to attend quite a number of panels. Early in the evening, I had attended the panel by notable voice actor Lex Lang. Sitting directly on my left was Derek Stephen Prince, another notable voice actor. Derek Stephen Prince's most recent work was doing the voice of Uryu Ishida, one of the main characters in "Bleach."

Lex Lang himself has done both voice work for Japanese anime and American cartoons. Asides from being a voice actor, he is a singer, composer, director, producer, and writer. He also works as a celebrity voice match specialist where he matches the voices of several celebrities. Lex Lang did an impersonation of Sean Connery during the panel. To be honest, Lex Lang had done a very convincing voice match of Sean Connery. Lex Lang sounded just like Sean Connery.

One of his works of voice acting was doing the voice of Han Solo for some of the Star Wars games. Of all the voice actors that had attended TandokuCon, Lex Lang had strong experience in both Japanese anime and American cartoons. I remember Lex Lang for his voice in several anime series. He was a cool guy to talk to. We chatted up a bit as he autographed the back of my entry pass for TandokuCon. The two of us talked a brief bit about his role in Sanosuke in "Rurouni Kenshin." Anybody that is familiar with Rurouni Kenshin should know that the Sanosuke posessed a giant sword called a zanbatou in the first few episodes before it was broken.

For fans of Japanese anime, Lex Lang is known for his roles for doing the voices of Crim from ".hack//SIGN," WarGreymon from "Digimon: Digital Monsters," Cyberdramon from "Digimon Tamers," Bunji Kugashira from "Gungrave," Kenshiro from "Fist of the North Star," Goemon Ishikawa XIII from "Lupin The 3rd," Zagato from "Magic Knight Rayearth," Ginias Sahalin from "Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team," Genjo Sanzo from "Saiyuki Reload," Shoryu from "Twelve Kingdoms," Shinji Nagira from "Witch Hunter Robin," and Dew from "IGPX."
