Hannah Montana 2 Meet Miley Cyrus Original Soundtrack Review

Double Whammy with Hannah Montana Alias Miley Cyrus!

I have a six-year-old daughter and one of her friends brought over this CD. Or I should say two of them, first one has 10 songs and the artist is Hannah Montana from Hannah Montana TV show and second CD is Miley Cyrus herself. Confused?

Frankly there is not much difference between these two records in my mind, Miley's own songs are just a tad "edgier" but still very bubbly and karaoke-like and girl next door singing about friends and school and what ever is appropriate for a girl who is only 14 to sing about.

Miley is the songwriter on many of the songs on the second CD and she does a nice job and girls all over US can relate to her very well.

She sure is not the next Kelly Clarkson, actually her voice is quite mediocre but she comes across likable and it is easy for our kids to sing along and memorise the words in each song. Production behind is not brilliant but there is not any moments for me as a mom and a country music lover to crinch too loud. Even my little toddler dances to the tunes so it cannot be too bad.

Disney Studios were smart not to overprice this double album, as I'm writing this you can buy it new for under $12 at Amazon.com, not bad for 20 full length songs!

I'm not going to start analyzing the songs, all I need to say that it is not marketed for adults, this is for young girls still playing with their barbies but trying to act cool and edgy and Miley with her songs is very easy addition next to all the My Little Ponies and teddy bears your girl will own.

I don't think any girl older than 15-16 would go for it and my 10-year-old boy already thinks that this music is childish but every once in a while I do hear him singing along when he thinks I cannot hear him.

Disney has done great job marketing Hannah Montana, today there is a clothing line and many cool websites, any little girl who can spell Hannah Montana will want to join the "Mileyworld" and there is nothing wrong with it, right?
