Etiquette says that an open fly should be closed by whatever means necessary. I have always wondered if an open fly is even a big deal anymore given the current trends of wearing your pants sagging down to your crotch and flashing the world your unmentionables. The t-bar sticking out of the top of your pants has become a sex symbol throughout the world for any given female. Now, if you wear your underwear like a badge, it is a good thing. For those that are particularly cool, they simply wear none at all though you could hardly call that a style.

Where are the days when the only thing peeking out was the occasional repairman whose belly was to big to pull up his pants all the way. Those poor souls only flashed their crack out of physical necessity, as opposed to a fashion statement. They had an excuse, however distasteful the crack attack might be. The crack attack back then was a physical disability, and was rare. You could always look away. What is it that has happened in our society that has given our youth the option of showing us their underwear?

As parents, we are buying the saggy bluejeans. Have you actually seen how much material these things have? They sag the floor and only allow for the kid to waddle across the floor rather than to walk upright like a man. You could take the material made to make one pair of these silly pants and make 3 pairs of regular pants with a decent fit. Waddle boy walks around as though he looks like the coolest kid on Earth all the while showing us all the fact that he likes to wear Fruit of the Looms. One good atomic wedgie would certainly change the outlook of these misguided teens. If you are over the age of thirty, stop and think what would happen to you back in the day if you had worn these things to school. I would have been found hanging from the flagpole outside my school naked and wishing I had some pants on that fit.

I wrote an article on sagging pants. While I was ranting, that doggone article ended up being #2 in google and I'm amazed. To this day, that article still has the most views out of all of the important topics I've written about, and it kinda annoys me how so many people are so quick to defend this fashion trend, but if I have a conversation about politics or social issues, I get, "I don't want to hear that shit." Drives me insane. AND I HATE SAGGING! As for thongs showing, I recall being at a book event, and a guy said, "Can you do me a favor?" I said, "What?" and he pulled my shirt down slightly. I had no idea my thong was showing but from the back of my chair, apparently you could see it. I was mortified AND at a book event signing books. I was so uncomfortable after that even when I fixed my pants, so I have no idea why a woman would do this on purpose.

I like thongs on girls because it shows they still feel sexy and slim down there. Taken further it lets males know they are a viable breeding candidate.

Oh I am definitely singing this tune :) I love the phrase 'Confidence and class is sexy'. Isn't that the truth. It is bad enough that the kids are dressing like this, but the adult women. They even do it in the grocery stores (uhhg). This was not only funny, but a serious problem in our society!!! Good read!

Thanks for a good article. I wonder what the next fad will be...I know it will be even more ridiculous.

Yay ~ good for you. I have to say I laughed - never heard it called a t-bar before.

It's sick that people don't use more mature judgment in choosing attire. Maybe that should be a high school required course- less controversial than sex ed. :)

Oh my I thought this fad was gone by now.

LOL I don't like this trend at all. I am built weird and my hips are bigger than my stomach so I get paranoid if I sit down and my shirt comes up in the back. I'm not showing my panties to just anyone LOL
