Today's Quote: "Hateful to me as the gates of Hades is that man who hides one thing in his heart and speaks another." ~Homer

How easy it is not to be true to ourselves!

There is so much judgment in the world (and often so much from ourselves). We want to protect ourselves from that, or we want to protect loved ones from what they may not wish to hear. We try to save ourselves from conflicts and confrontations.

Well, that's not all bad of course. A degree of sensitivity is a good thing to have, and picking your battles is a smart choice.

Still, we all have times when we need to be true to ourselves, true to our thoughts, beliefs and opinions, and we just do not, whatever the reason.

I guess perhaps I'm a bit like Homer in that, because I find it disturbing even in myself. I know when I should have spoken what was in my heart, should have been true to myself. I often feel worse about my decision not to speak than I probably would have if I had spoken.

Today's thought is to remember yourself, and be true to yourself. You know best when something can be let go, and when something means too much to you not to speak up.

Know that in the grand scheme of things, speaking your truth, from your heart, is a very important thing.
