Romantic Getaways in Wisconsin for Valentine's Day
Looking to Be Alone with Your Significant Other, Check Out These Places
This is the time of the year when I'm always looking at romantic getaways for my wife and me. With both Valentine's Day (Feb. 14) and our fifth wedding anniversary (March 21) coming up, it's only natural for us to want to do something special to celebrate. For some couples, romantic vacations include trips to Las Vegas or Hawaii. But, I've come to learn there are plenty
Here is a list of my four favorite getaways.
Sybaris Pool Suites (Mequon) - There are a couple things I like about Sybaris. First, the rooms are huge. It doesn't matter if you're getting a Whirlpool Suite or one of their famous Pool Suites; you're going to have plenty of room and every amenity imaginable. The staff here is very friendly and willing to serve.
Sybaris also offers quite a few options in terms of availability. If you want to do something special but don't necessarily have the time to spend the night, you can just rent out one of the suites for the afternoon.
And, if you're able to go to Sybaris during the week, you can often find half-priced certificates on Flato.com.
Westwood Shores (Sturgeon Bay) - The nice thing about Westwood Shores is it's both a good place to go if you want to be alone or if you want to take your family with you. The resort offers a couple different sized suites and all have the comforts of home.
The nice thing about this resort is you don't have to worry about getting a room without a good view because all the suites overlook Sturgeon Bay. Depending on the time of the year, you can usually get packages that include tours of the local winery or gift baskets in your room.
I have, however, found this place is better to visit in the warmer months because you can't go boating if the bay is frozen over.
