Recent tabloid reports state that doctors are speculating that Britney Spears is Bipolar. Is it true, well there are no real tests to determine whether or not someone is truly Bipolar. In fact Bipolar Disorder is often misdiagnosed. True Bipolar Disorder is defined as, "A psychiatric disorder marked by alternating episodes of mania and depression. Also called bipolar illness, manic-depressive illness."

I can look at recent events in her life and see where the manic phase might occur. I guess if you were an outside observer her Thursday night standoff with the police might be a manic episode, but honestly, I am not convinced it is. Yes you might also say that the whole crazy head shaving episode was also sparked by a manic episode, or maybe it was just too much drugs. I am honestly not convinced that she is suffering from anything more then a run of the mill mental breakdown from stress and lack of sleep. For someone who makes so much of her life so public I haven't seen any evidence of her suffering from depression.

I mean come on the girl can not even go to the bathroom without getting the paparazzi up in her face. You would be at your wits end too if the flashbulbs were going off every five seconds in your face. Then again several celebrities do manage to go about there daily lives without being in the public eye all the time. Have you seen pictures of Posh Spice going into the gas station restroom recently? I haven't.

I had such hope for Britney, we all did. Unfortunately the more time goes by the more she is turning into another Anna Nicole? Straight down to what she is wearing in the "Piece of Me" video when she was doing her little dance with her girls in a public bathroom. You know what Britney isn't Bipolar she has a bathroom stall obsession.

Honestly though I do wish the girl the best. I would say that the media has been too harsh on her, but come on she invites it. She seriously needs to take some down time, go to another one of those spa like rehab places and stay there for a few months, then come back. It worked for Lindsay...wait that is a whole different story.

This 'sickness' always existed. It was only in 1980 did that the official term and symptoms were determined. Many mental illness issues in history were merely mislabeled and thought to be other illnesses- it's not that it did not exist. For instance: Beethoven and Vincent Van Gogh had Bi-Polar Disorder.

Honestly, this article is crap. Thinking you have the information or right to pass judgement on another persons psychological health- you do not! And obviously, you have ZERO education in this area, yet are pleased and eased to pass such judgement. It is people like you who ruin the perspective or real authority on such matters, because your 'popular' opinion sadly makes more waves in the pool of worldly gossip. Authoring this article is a crime against the positive possibility's of social commentary. This website should be ashamed to post your poor and uneducated opinions!

She and Senator Larry Craig need to get together and make it a night on the town!

Anyone as pumped full of drugs as she is, is bound to look and act bipolar, and maybe she is an addict because she is bipolar or bipolar because she is an addict, I am losing any kind of pity for her with her poor children being as abused and neglected and traumatized as she is making them. Great article.

I honestly feel sad for her. I can't imagine what it must be like to share so much of your life at such a young age with the entire world. Does she invite some of it? Sure she does, but I'm also sure there are many things she wishes would have been private. I hope the best for her but the only person who can help Brit is Brit herself.

It is very sad that someone who has been a role model for so many young children has turned out this way. It is very scary to think about just what our children are being exposed to everyday. You can't even turn on TV without hearing something about Britney and her "drama of the month"!

I have seen bi-polar, and it doesn't really coincide with Britney. Of course, I don't really pay close attention. I think she's just a spoiled brat.

She's a celebrity therefore she is always in the public eye, but she is also human. I say leave her alone!

I think she may very well have BiPolar disorder!

Who cares about Britney. We need to focus on new role models for our kids, but the media does play a huge part in this crap.
