An exciting bowl season calls for its own version of the All-America Team. After all, sometimes the season AP All-Americans don't really show up for their bowl games (see Darren McFadden, Arkansas) and sometimes those who don't make the regular season cut let everyone know why they should have (see Ray Rice, Rutgers).

Presenting the 2008 All-Bowl Team:

Offense

QB Dan LaFevour, Central Michigan- Although it's difficult to earn All-bowl Team honors as a member of a losing team, especially the quarterback of that team, the Central Michigan loss to Purdue in the Motor City Bowl can't really be pinned on the efforts of LaFevour. All the poor guy did was throw for 292 yards, rush for 114, and score six times. Maybe Central Michigan ought to look into recruiting some defensive players to help him out.

QB Paul Smith, Tulsa- The under-appreciated senior threw for 312 yards and five touchdowns, while running for 46 yards and another score. All of this while leading Tulsa to the most lopsided win in bowl history, 63-7 over Bowling Green. Not bad for someone who didn't even sniff the AP All-America Team.

RB Jonathan Stewart, Oregon- Playing for a team starting what seems like their 10th string quarterback, Stewart rushed for 253 yards and a touchdown and also caught a score. He averaged an even 11 yards per carry against South Florida, which is exceptional against anyone.

RB Ray Rice, Rutgers- With Rutgers coming off a 7-5 year, it was easy to forget about Ray Rice, who lost some of the spotlight he enjoyed last year as the star of a Cinderella team. He proved in his bowl game, though, that he is still deserving of the spotlight with a 280 yard, 4 touchdown performance against Ball State that included a 90 yard run.

FB Owen Schmitt, West Virginia- The guy may be nuts, but he does have a sweet hairdo, and a 57-yard touchdown run out of a fullback in a BCS game will get you on this list every time.

WR Michael Crabtree, Texas Tech- The sensational freshman was held silent for most of the game against Virginia, but showed up just in time, and apparently on only one good ankle, to help key the Texas Tech comeback victory.
