Got Hair Dye on Your Skin From Coloring Your Hair?

No Need to Panic - These Solutions Will Help Take it Off

Being in the beauty industry I have came across so many neat tricks to remove hair dye from a customers skin. No matter how careful you are applying the color, we always seem to get a few stains no matter what. Don't panic though because there is so many tricks to remove it. Some of them
you will be very surprised how good they really do work. The hardest color to remove off the skin has always been black, which isn't too popular now. People are trying to stay away from black and getting their hair like a dark brown with some sort of high lite or low lite in it. So it's not too fake or flat looking. Trying to get this color off the skin sometimes can be very stressful. So if you follow and use these helpful tips you will not have to panic anymore.

1. Comet- Any brand of comet will do. Just rub a little on a rag, making sure the rag is wet enough. Then gently rubbing it on the skin where the dye is. Don't rub too hard, it might make you irritated from scrubbing.

2. Clarifying shampoo- Any brand of clarifying shampoo. Just rub a little shampoo on a rag and let it sit for about a minute or so. Then wipe off.

3. Equal sugar- Who would of thought that this product would work so great, but it really does. I ran out of dye remover one day at the salon, and the order wasn't coming till the next day. So I grabbed a package of equal sugar, placed it in a bowl, mix it with a drop of shampoo and rub on the skin. The dye will come off very smoothly.

4. Sea breeze- This is a great astringent, but also takes off hair dye off the skin very nicely. Rub a little with a rag or cotton ball. Don't worry if you feel a slight tingle sensation. This is normal.

5. Noxema- This has many uses. Place this creme on the spots with the dye and leave it on for about ten minutes. Then after it has soaked up the dye, rub off with a cool rag.

6. Hair dye- Yes hair dye itself will take off unwanted dye on the skin. Take some of your leftover dye and rub it with a dab of shampoo. Dye does remove dye. You just need to use a little elbow grease.

These are awesome tips! This happened to me once, and it took a couple days for the dye to come off my forehead. Thanks for this!

I think I got a bunch of grey hairs from remembering that incident with the teen...but maybe rereading your wonderfully done article will make them go away :)

Super information. I do wish I knew how to safely remove it from some other surfaces and have learned the hard way to be very careful with hair dye because it can permanently stain some surfaces, a fact I wish one teen knew before trying to dye his hair black in a white bathroom. Ack!
