Is a College Football Playoff Really the Best Change?

Yet again a Big Ten team got into the National Title game, and yet again they had their collective butts handed to them in a tepid title game. This really brings up the question of whether it's time to scrap the BCS for good. Before the title game I would have said no, but there is no way Ohio State is even one of the five best teams in the country, much less the best. It's a shame such a dull game ended one of the best seasons in college football history, but is a play-off or plus one really an obvious solve all answer? The BCS system isn't perfect-I'm not even going to attempt to argue that, or even that it's the best idea, but here are some reasons why to consider a play-off might not be the best thing:
1) It'll be like Yankees-Red Sox Baseball:
We just had one of the greatest seasons in college football history, and everyone who wants a play-off complains as if this season would have happened if we had a play off. Not so. Teams rise from nothing to something because of bowl money. Cutting out 32 bowls for an 8 team play-off system means only the teams who are always best will be in it year after year.
Look at I-AA and Division III football. You have guys who sneak into the play-offs, but the same small number of teams are in for the title year after year after year. If you're a USC, Oklahoma, Ohio State, Michigan, LSU, Virginia Tech, Florida fan this doesn't bother you. Anyone who wants to see their team jump to the next level, without that money it will never happen again. It will always be the same elite group of teams. This isn't the NFL-you won't have dynasties rise and fall.
Also consider that these teams will get money from every play-off bowl game. A play-off bowl game would be like a BCS game at every round-meaning a champion would get about 4 pay outs in the millions of dollars. If you're a middle of the road team getting $35,000 from a bowl, and you have to compete with a team who just made $8 million, who's going to win?
If you like always having the same powerhouses, fine, but if you want an exciting season like this one, it will never happen with a play-off system.
2) A Lot of Teams Will Get Screwed Anyway:
