My Favorite Valentine Day Cookie Recipe
Quick and Easy
I love to use my Sugar cookie recipe for making Valentine's Day Cookies, it is simple and easy.Sugar Cookies
2 3/4 c. flour
1 1/2 c. white sugar
1 c.butter, softened
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 tsp.baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Stir together flour, baking powder, and baking soda.
Set aside.
Cream together the sugar and butter until smooth.
Beat in vanilla and egg, gradually blend in the dry ingredients.
Roll rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into balls, and place onto ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown.
Let cool two minutes before removing from cookie sheet.
Decorate with frosting or sprinkles.
Frosting
Mix 1 lb. powdered sugar, 1/2 cup butter, and 1/2 cup Crisco, 2 tsp. vanilla. Gradually add 1/4 c.hot water.
Frost cookies when cooled. And then decorate with candy hearts, Heresy kisses, sprinkles, decorating tubes that you can use to write special Valentine's Day Cookie Sayings with.
You can make a tic-tac-toe game on your cookie with X's and O's for hugs and kisses. Put what ever your child likes on their cookies, and make them up a small basketful of cookies just for them.
Or use your favorite frosting recipe. Add pink or red food coloring, just a tiny bit at a time until you achieve the color you want.
