Sometimes you need to remove your nail polish and don't happen to have any nail polish remover at hand. Whether you just hate the look of polish once it has started chipping, or you forgot to remove the multi-colored manicure you got last night when babysitting a friend's child, don't fear. All you need is to make sure you have a little clear nail polish handy.Paint on a layer of clear nail polish over the top of the colored polish already on your nails. Then, right away put a cotton pad or a tissue on top of the wet clear polish and push down hard. The color polish will break down and be able to be wiped clean, leaving you with natural looking nails.
This works best if the colored nail polish is still wet. Such as if you are in a department store and are trying on a few colors to see which one you like the best. However, it will still work with dry polish. You just might have to repeat the process more than once.
It's a good idea to put a bottle of clear nail polish in your purse. Or, if you do not want to carry it around with you, you can keep one at home, one in your car, and one at your office. Then you will have a bottle available whenever you need one. If you are trying on polish at a department store they should have a clear polish you can sample so you don't have to worry about bringing your own.
There are a few other beauty emergencies where a having a bottle of clear nail polish handy could be a lifesaver and prevent possible embarrassment.
If you have a pair of pantyhose or tights that you snagged and got a run in, you can apply a small amount of clear nail polish to the edges of the tear. It will be sticky at first but once it dries you will not have to worry about the run getting bigger. Plus you won't have to get rid of your tights, depending on where the tear is, which can get expensive to replace if you are accident prone.
You can also apply environmentally friendly clear nail polish to ringworm. This is said to help kill it and clear it up. The polish prevents the ringworm from getting air and suffocates it.
