Valentine's Day Recipes: How to Make Your Favorite Foods Red or Pink

Valentines Day Parfait

Use parfait glasses, the size glass you would like to use. Make a batch of raspberry, cherry or strawberry Jello. Make as the directions say on the package. Chill till set.

Take a couple spoons of Jello, then a couple spoons of cool whip, and keep layering until the parfait glass, or the glass of your choice is filled, top off with a candy heart.

Now if you would like you can take and add a little bit of the powdered Jello to the cool whip, it will color your cool whip, as well as give it flavor.

Waffles and Strawberries

Ingredients

2 c. flour
3 Tbsp. sugar
1 1/4 cups milk
1/2 c. vegetable oil
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
4 egg yolks
4 egg whites

Mix together flour, baking powder, sugar and salt.
In another bowl mix the egg yolks, oil, and milk then mix with dry ingredients until moistened. Beat egg whites until they are stiff mand fold into the waffle batter. Cook batter in waffle iron.

Serve a waffle covered with strawberries and whip cream, use a little of the strawberry juice and mix it with the cool whip for your Valentines Day colors. Top with a strawberry.

Coloring Frosting

Add a little powdered Jello a little at a time, until you get your desired color. My Mom use to do this for all Holidays. It gives a nice refreshing taste to your frosting.

Sounds good. I use Jello for color and flavor. I've found that putting Jello in jelly gives it a lot stronger flavor, expecially with the new flavors like blackberry. I recently made some blackberry jelly from berries I had been given from somebody's freezer. I was afraid they might taste old, so add some blackberry Jello, and it was to die for. Maraschino cherry juice is good for adding just a little color, too.
