These Vintage inspired wall pockets are the perfect way to give and display flowers for Valentine's Day. Each romantic wall pocket can hold one to two flowers. They make the prefect romantic Valentine's Day gift for the one you love.

You will be using vintage metal screens from old windows to make the wall pockets, so get ready to be creative and customize your own vintage wall pockets!

To Make Vintage Wall Pockets from Vintage Window Screening You Will Need:

Red Ribbon

Fabric

Upholstery Needle

Yarn

Vintage Window Screens

Scissors

Tin Snips

Glass Vials or Bud Cases

To get started you want to cut out 8 pieces of vintage window screening to 10 inches by 10 inches. In place of vintage window screens for this craft you can use metal grid sheeting form the hardware store or even new window screen rolls.

Now, while you have the pieces of vintage window screen laid out flat you want to go ahead and start attaching your letters onto them. Use a fun Valentine's Day fabric for this.

Tips: To continue the vintage look you can use vintage fabric, vintage inspired fabric, or reproduction vintage fabric. You can also tea stain existing fabric to look old. Another fun idea is pieces of worn out jeans.

Now, cut each letter out of the fabric. You want the letters to be approximately 5 inches tall and 3 inches wide. You can use stencils for this if you wish.

Cut each letter out of the fabric.

Now, lay each letter on one square of window screen. Brush some glue on the back of the fabric and then press into the screen. Fabric glue is best. Do not saturate the fabric.

Now, if you used new window screening the letters can be sewn on your sewing machine to adhere them. If you used vintage window screens you do not want to do this. It is much more thick.

Now, thread your needle with the yarn or needlepoint type thread. Start sewing the edges down using the grids on the vintage window screen as your guide. You basically want to add another accent color as well as finish off the edge so the Valentine's Day wall pocket letters.

Pictures would be EXCELLENT! I won't read the articles if I can see what they're talking about. The title gets my interest, but when I see nothing but text, I pass to another website. It's only a problem when the article is about VISUAL projects.
