Once you have made up your mind on becoming an Ice/Lightning Magician, this Maple Story guide will help you distribute your skill points to ensure a perfect character. If you have not yet chosen a job you should read my guide on which second job to choose.

Ice/Lightning Magicians have several advantages over other jobs in Maple Story. For one thing, they have a wide area of maps to train on. Second of all, they have very cool spells that can be started right away. Thirdly, this job offers the most fun leveling of all the magicians, and finally they get to high levels very quickly.

When you choose which path to go with it's important to know one thing: There are two paths you can take. The first path that I will present to you is the one I would recommend as long as you have money in the bank. This path will get your levels fast, but will drain your Mesos. The second path which is in another Maple Story guide of mine is for maplers with a broke bank account, that's looking for the best way to both level and get money.

If you have a couple of millions saved up that you are willing to sacrifice for MP (Mana Points) and want fun and exciting leveling you should do the following.

After you choose your second job in Ellinia put your first point in Teleport. Teleport is a spell that's very useful, and can help speed up the leveling process. The following levels you'll want to max Thunder Bolt by getting 30 points into it. Until you get at least 15 points into this spell you'll have to mostly use your claw, but it will be well worth it around level 38 when you can start going to Lorangs.

When Thunder Bolt is maxed you should max out MP Eater, Meditation and Teleport in that order. These are the spells that must be maxed out, and you have to choose which one to max out between Cold Beam and Slow in the end.

Slow can be useful in certain situations, but since you'll be a mob killer it has no real value. By getting Cold Beam you can continue your mob killing spells right away at the third job, which gives you the fastest leveling rate. I would advise you to choose Cold Beam over Slow, and put only the last point into Slow.
