I'm the type of guy who loves to learn about new things no matter if its useful or useless I want to know. Here's just a small list of 25 Totally Useless but Really Interesting Facts I have picked up over the years. So if your like me then check out the list and you might be surprised in what you find. With that said enjoy!1. The Eisenhower Interstate system requires that one mile in every 5 miles must be straight. The reason for this is the straight sections are meant to be used in times of war and emergencies as a runway for aircrafts.
2. If a statue in the park of a person on a horse has both front legs in the air, then that person had died in Battle. If the horse has only one leg up then that person had died as a result of their wounds due to the battle. Finally if all four legs of the horse in the statue are down then it means the person has died of old age.
3. The Armadillo is the only other animal besides humans that can get leprosy.
4. Columbia University is the second largest landowner in New York city, after the Catholic Church.
5. Hershey Kisses got their name because the machine that makes them, looks like its kissing the conveyor belt.
6. In the great fire of London in 1666, half of London burnt down but only 6 people were injured.
7. Scientist believe that the Earth weighs around 6,588,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 tons.
8. The phrase "Rule Of Thumb" is derived from an old English law which states that you couldn't beat your wife with anything wider than your thumb.
9. Even if you cut off a cockroaches head, it can still live up to several weeks after.
10. Since 1896, the beginning of the modern Olympics, only Greece and Australia have participated in every games.
11. When possums are playing "Possum", they are not "Playing" but instead they actually pass out from sheer terror.
12. 7% of Americans don't know the first 9 words of the American Anthem, but know the first 7 of Canada's.
13. Only 2 people signed the Declaration Of Independence on July 4th, John Hancock and Charles Thomson. Most of the other signatures where added on August 2nd but that last signature wasn't added until 5 years later.
14. Women's heart beats faster then men's.
