The iHome iH26 Portable Travel Alarm Clock for iPod is priced at $80.00. The product is described as being perfect for the busy traveler. IT has a lock feature to maintain settings and includes a carrying case, which is meant to protect the product. Batteries are not needed because it includes a charger and remote control.

You can transfer your music from you iPod to the speaker system. If your iPod battery is low, you can charge both the iPod and the clock at the same time. It requires a Aux/MP3 line in jack with patch cord to connect with other MP3 players and audio devices. I have not yet concluded if it can transfer music from my keyboard or CD yet. If you don't want to use the charger, you can substitute with CR 2032 batteries for the clock backup and remote control. You must purchase the 4AA Alkaline Batteries separately.

Two speakers sit on the left and right while the actual iPod rest in the middle. The whole system is black and located right under the iPod is a display of a digital clock. The display of the item is great; however the product does not live up to all of its promises. The sleep function turns off the speaker system, not the actual iPod shuffle. You also do not wake up to music; as the product details. More than likely, you will be awaken to a normal buzzing sound. The speaker sound is okay, however it is not loud enough. The alarm clock does not have a FM/AM radio like most alarm clocks possess. This device is great for travelers who may not get reception. Many people complain about hearing the same music being played on the radio. This alarm clock could solve the problem, but is not recommended for those who like loud blasting music with a deep bass sound.

The thing that I liked most about this product was how easy it was to adjust alarm and time settings. If you leave the alarm clock on and it does not detect any audio or music being played, a buzzer will sound. I don't understand this feature, as I would rather it just automatically shut off to preserve energy. Different sized inserts are available to suit any iPods. Older version of iPods tends to be much larger in weight and density than the newer ones.
